Our Board

Anthony Akers

Born and raised in Pulaski County, Anthony Akers has served our community since 1995 starting with the Office on Youth. He then became the director of Parks and Recreation before taking on his current role as the Assistant County Administrator. Anthony enjoys serving others through local government and volunteer programs. He has taken numerous trips over the past twenty years to the City of Refuge Atlanta and watched some of those programs materialize in Pulaski County through COR Pulaski. Anthony also enjoys spending time with family, participating in outdoor activities, and occasionally coaching in local sports programs.


Brad Alley

A lifelong resident of Pulaski County, Brad Alley is the Owner of the Insurance Center of Dublin. He graduated from Pulaski County High School, New River Community College and Radford University. He’s married to Julie Chaffin Alley and father to Ashley, Dillon, and Brayden. Brad enjoys serving his community, his customers, and the City of Refuge Pulaski. He has partnered with COR Pulaski since it began many years ago.


Richard Gehrz, M.D.

For 20 years, Dr. Dick Gehrz was a full professor of pediatrics and immunology at the University of Minnesota, and was a world-renowned research scientist in the field of viral immunology before moving to Pulaski in 1993. He served over 23,000 children as a pediatrician in Pulaski before retiring in 2018 to pursue volunteer ministry opportunities. He has been a member of Memorial Baptist Church for 29 years and leads a community basketball program and Celebrate Recovery. He and his wife, Elaine, have three children and five grandchildren. He is an amateur photographer and videographer and serves on the boards of COR Pulaski and the Mayflower Christian Academy.


Knotresha Stewart, M.D.

Knotresha Stewart, MD. is a physician specializing in Internal Medicine at River Valley Healthcare Associates, in Dublin, Virginia. Dr. Stewart believes that God has given us a great tool, through medicine, to encourage and guide enhancement physically and mentally. Dr. Stewart attended the University of South Florida and St. Matthews University of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently involved in her church, The Links of the Roanoke Chapter, and a parent representative for the Gifted Committee in the Radford school system. She has a strong desire to give back to her community and to share love by action, word, and deed.
